LGV C and C+E driver training.

Procedure to Acquiring Licences to Drive:
The legal requirements is that you must take and pass your C class rigid before being able to take your C+E articulated licence.

Provisional Licence
Complete form D2, making sure that you tick the "C" box. You will need to take a medical examination and your GP will then complete the D4 form. You can obtain an application pack from ATT. Once application complete you will need to return to DVLA Swansea along with your driving licence. Upon receipt of your provisional licence sign it immediately,  you are now legally entitled to drive an LGV on L plates.

Theory Test
You must complete a theory test, this comprises of 100 multiple choice questions these can be taken at DVLA centre in Coventry or Leicester. You will also have to complete a hazard perception test this comprises of 19 video clips with developing hazards. You need to complete the theory tests before starting your driving course.

Assessment/ Training
Contact us to arrange for an assessment drive. This consists of a short drive with a qualified instructor to assess your capabilities. once returning from assessment you can book the required training.

Large Good Vehicle Driving Instructor Course   


Delegate eligibility
Experienced LGV drivers holding a current licence who are involved in the provision of training with in a company. delegates should be able to demonstrate sound written and verbal skills and have the personal attributes required by instructors.

Course Description
This course enhances existing training skills and focuses them on the delivery of driver training. The interactive guided practice and discussion, progressively prepares delegates to cater for the need of learners both in the training room and the cab.

Course content and Duration
The course is covered over 7 days and contains 12 elements to the course. A final examination is required to check your understanding of subjects covered.

Qualification
Successful candidates will then be eligible to enter the RTITB national Register of Industrial & Commercial Instructors for a period of 5 years.
